What are psychological evaluations?

Psychological evaluations are comprehensive assessments designed to understand an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Whether for diagnosing conditions like ADHD, understanding intellectual abilities, or preparing for life-changing procedures, psychological evaluations provide clarity and guide personalized recommendations to support well-being and growth. ************************** TYPES OF EVALUATIONS OFFERED: * Cognitive Screening for Memory Concerns Have you noticed any recent memory changes? Have you been struggling with attention, concentration, or completing day-to-day tasks? Our cognitive screenings assess areas like memory, attention, and problem-solving to provide a snapshot of your cognitive performance. While these screenings are not diagnostic tests, they offer valuable insights that can be monitored annually to track changes over time. If results indicate potential concerns, we can recommend further testing to ensure you receive the care and support you need. * ADHD Evaluation (adults and children) Our ADHD evaluations are designed to identify symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that may be impacting daily life. Using specialized tests and interviews, we provide an accurate diagnosis and tailored recommendations to help individuals thrive at home, work, or school. If a diagnosis is present, we can provide necessary documentation for special accommodations in academic or professional settings. * Autism Spectrum Disorders Evaluation (adults only) We offer compassionate evaluations to assess for Autism Spectrum Disorders, focusing on communication, social skills, and behavior. Our goal is to provide a clear diagnosis and practical guidance to support growth, learning, and meaningful connections. * Bariatric Preoperative Assessment This specialized evaluation ensures you’re emotionally and mentally prepared for your weight-loss journey. We assess psychological readiness, identify any potential challenges, and provide support for long-term success after surgery. * Pre-Transplant Assessment Our pre-transplant assessments are designed to support you and your medical team in preparing for a successful transplant. The goal is not to make “yes” or “no” determinations but to provide recommendations that address your emotional well-being, coping strategies, and any potential challenges. This ensures that you are fully supported before and after the procedure for the best possible outcomes. * Immigration N-648 Form (English and Portuguese) We assist individuals seeking a medical disability waiver for the naturalization process by conducting thorough evaluations. Whether you are seeking exemption from the English portion, civics test, or both, our team provides necessary documentation to help you meet the requirements of Form N-648 with care and accuracy. ************************** Our assessments not only fulfill medical requirements but also offer valuable self-understanding to enhance your decision-making, clinical treatment, and overall well-being. Let's work together to help you create the life you envision and deserve. I'm here to support you every step of the way. ************************** ABOUT DR.
